Who Are We?
Sing Out Bristol is a community choir run by and aimed at lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people who enjoy singing. We meet every Tuesday in central Bristol to sing together, learning a wide range of music from classical to African chants and musicals to pop.
We are proud to be able to create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere where everyone benefits from being part of a supportive, dynamic and fun group. We provide an open and accessible choral group demonstrated through our choice of venue; our commitment to not holding auditions for new members; our welcome to people who have never sung before and want to try; our sliding scale of membership subscription fees; and the variety of methods we use to learn music and movement.
We sing for our own pleasure, and we also perform in and around Bristol - both at our own and other organised events. We have performed at Circomedia, the Colston Hall Foyer opening celebrations, The Anson Rooms, Redgrave Theatre and St George's as part of Bristol's Festival of Song. We have even taken part in a flash mob! Further afield we have sung at the prestigious international Various Voices event at the Southbank Centre, London and performed as the guest choir with the Pink Singers at the Royal College of Music in London.
